One-on-one tutoring
Someone patient, at your kitchen table
Not a repair. Just an hour with someone who will explain it properly, as many times as you need, without making you feel foolish for asking.
A lot of people don't need anything fixed. They need someone to sit down and explain how the thing works — without sighing, without taking the mouse out of their hand, and without using six words they'd have to look up.
This is some of the most satisfying work I do. There's no such thing as a question that's too basic, and nobody gets talked down to at my table.
Symptoms
Things we can work on
Email, properly
Attachments, folders, searching for that thing from 2019, and telling real mail from junk.
Video calls with family
FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp — set up and practised so it works when it matters.
Photos
Getting them off the phone, organised, backed up, shared, and printed if you want them on paper.
Online safety
What a scam actually looks like, and the handful of rules that catch nearly all of them.
Online banking and shopping
Done confidently and safely, including what's worth worrying about and what isn't.
Whatever's been bothering you
Bring the list. Everybody has a list. We'll work down it.
- On your own equipment. Learning on your computer, in your chair, means it still makes sense after I leave — which is not true of a class on a borrowed laptop.
- Written notes if you want them. Step-by-step, in your words not mine, so you have something to refer to on Thursday.
- Repetition without impatience. Ask me the same thing four times. That's genuinely fine — repetition is how this sticks.
- Devices set up to suit you. Bigger text, better contrast, simpler home screens, fewer notifications shouting at you.
- Whatever you bring. Computer, phone, tablet, TV, camera, car screen. If it has a screen we can look at it.
- Follow-up questions are free. A quick call afterwards to check something doesn't come with a bill attached.
- Family sessions welcome. Two people learning together often works better than one, and costs the same.
What it costs
$100 an hour, flat
Billed for actual time on site. No diagnostic fee, no call-out charge, and quick questions are always free. If the problem comes back, so do I — at no cost.

- No trip charge inside Passaic, Morris or Bergen county
- You get me on the phone, not a call centre
- Remote support by text, phone or video: $25 for up to 20 minutes
- Monthly and annual support memberships available
- Licensed New Jersey LLC, carrying liability insurance

Questions about tech tutoring & guidance
Is there a minimum, or do I have to book a course?
I'm embarrassed about how little I know.
Can you help my parent, if I'm not there?
Would a video call work instead of a visit?

Tell me what's not working.
Call and you'll get me, not a menu. Or send a note and I'll come back to you the same day — usually within a couple of hours.
Request a visit
The more you tell me, the better prepared I'll show up.
